If you are using Ubuntu or Mint or even Debian for that matter you will
probably have to install some more software. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
While Ubuntu and the like are good about their packages its your computer.
If you still want to try:
sudo apt-get install pentium-builder libc6-dev libfreetype6-dev libsm-dev
libfontconfig1-dev libxrender-dev libglu1-mesa-dev
